Gentell Design Labs
Introducing
A new hub for wound care innovation
Gentell Design Labs is based on the new Gentell Ramsbury site in southern England. The unit is led by Phil Andrews, one of the original founders of First Water, where he managed the research and commercial teams prior to its acquisition by Scapa Healthcare.
In the coming years we’ll be building on the existing team’s expertise in commercial management and product design. We’re actively hiring across project management, polymer science, process and chemical engineering.
Get in touch today to discuss employment opportunities and scientific collaborations.
From need identification through validation and supply, we’ll make it better.
It’s all about collaboration
-
...with academia
We’re beginning collaborations with some of the world’s leading academic institutions who we’ll work with across a range of collaborations spanning polymer science, chemical engineering, sustainability, clinical and big data.
-
...with clinicians
Gentell is unique in that it’s directly responsible for treating over 15,000 patients every day. Every wound is tracked by our proprietary FastCare® platform. This means that every day, we build on a massive data set to help inform NPD and the development of powerful product claims.
-
...with tech providers
Our North Star is the achievement of cost-effective clinical outcomes. As a result we’re wide open to embracing new technologies. If you’re a provider of unique materials, technologies or IP, don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss collaborations.
-
...with manufacturers
Notwithstanding our growing manufacturing infrastructure, we’ve always been open to working with contract manufacturing partners that are able to help support cost-effective growth.
-
...with our OEMs
Our most successful projects have started at a portfolio review level, involving both our customers’ R&D and marketing teams. Designing a product to meet the specific clinical, commercial and regulatory needs of the market.
-
...with YOU!
We’re hiring across manufacturing, product design, polymer science and chemical engineering.

Our Collaboration Model
We push the boundaries of what it means to be a wound dressing manufacturer. From polymer design through to marketing, regulatory and IP support, we’re there.
Whatever the nature of the development, you’ll will find our style to be open, creative, professional and collaborative.
Projects can be as simple as the supply of an existing product with your artwork, or as complex as complex funded co-developments with IP sharing.
